Andy finished fourth in the second heat, and with the luck of the redraw he was slated to start on the poll...at the drop of the green Nick DeCarlo was able to motor by and He, Andy And Joe Antonetti ran the very fast 25 lap main and finished in that order.

Thanks to all the Sponsors next races Friday at Ocean Speedway with The Modified and then off to Bakersfield Speedway with the Super Late Model for the West Coast Shootout Race.

16 Super Late Models checked in at Chris Kearns' Santa Maria Speedway Saturday Night. Any Qualified 9th and finished 4th in his heat race to garner a 11th place stating spot for the main event. Struggling all night looking for the right combination between being too tight and too loose. Andy through just about everything at the car but no real change for the main. He was able to drive up to 7th place before spinning himself out with 5 laps to go in the race...finishing 11th.

Andy and crew are already working hard to get the problem found and switched before our next late model race at Bakersfield April 30th.

Thanks to all the sponsors ConFab, Corp. Little Darlins Child Care, Carcerano Racing Heads, Pacific Coast Battery, JennStar Motorsports, Stietz Service, Hogge Racing Shocks, Dana Stahl Racing and the crew.....

We'll see you in two weeks at Bakersfield Speedway....

4/12/11

14 Super Late Models checked in on Saturday for Bakersfield Speedway's 2nd race of the year for their Super Late Model season.

Andy qualified 9th overall with a malfunctioning carburetor, after qualifying Andy and Ron worked on the carb and found the misbehaving part and replaced it. Andy did some fine tuning to the chassis and was ready to go for the Heat race. Starting 2nd row outside Andy was able to jump into third and hold off a Fast charging Brad Pounds for a nice third place finish and more importantly the problem with the carburetor was fixed. This finish put Andy in the front row alongside his good friend Clay Daly. Clay jumped out to an early lead and led the first 7 laps until Andy was able to run him down and take the lead, Andy led up to lap 26 when Mike Johnson and Clay were able to pass him in lapped traffic. A fine third place finish for the Obertello Racing Team!

As always Thanks to sponsors, Little Darlins Child Care, Confab Corp, Pacific Coast Battery, Stietz Service, Carcerano Racing Heads, Jennstar Motorsports.
Also a very Big THANK YOU to Ryan "the Animal" Oldes for all of his help.

4/9/11

Watsonville's Ocean Speedway welcomed 15 Modifies for the second point race of the year. No qualifying tonight because of multiple classes so heats were lined up by pill draw...Andy started 4Th in second heat race and managed a respectable second place. Somehow in a redraw for the main he ended up on the pole....Knowing that the car would need some changes the A-team went to work throwing some ideas around and came up with something that they thought would work. At the drop of the green Andy took the lead and never looked back during the race....1st win of the year and the first win on the MRT Race Cars Modified.

As always thanks go out to the A-Team....Dave, Matt, Dad, Mom, Evan, Clay, Manny and Mad Mike for all the help and support. Also this can not happen with out sponsors Little Darlins Childcare, Confab Corp, Carcerano Performance, Stietz Service, MRT Race Cars, Hogge Racing Shocks....Thanks

Ocean Speedway See you there 04/08/2011

4/4/11

14 IMCA type modifies checked in at Watsonville's Ocean Speedway Friday night. Cody Burke Qualified 1st in the 15.3 range, Andy qualified 5th at 15.6, ran third in his heat race started 4th in the main and managed a fifth place finish. Everybody had to battle a very rough turns 1 and 2 all night, the car seemed to have good corner speed all night but not enough straight away speed...due to a little early season test (different gear and motor combo). Andy and crew have some ideas and will make some slight changes to the set up and will be ready to go again soon.

Thanks go out to the crew, Dave, Matt, Mom and Dad and of course all the sponsors, MRT Race Cars, Carcerano Performance, ConFab Corp, Little Darlins Child Care, Pacific Coast Battery, Jennstar Motorsports, Auntie Sue and Uncle Harold and all of the friends that come out to support us.

Next Race is April 9th in Bakersfield at Oildale Speedway with the Super Late Model.....

03/22/11

14 Super Late Models checked in at Bakersfield Speedway Saturday night.
Nick Bartell won in his 525 powered Victory Circle with Mike Johnson and Robert Sanders close behind. Andy on the other hand seemed to be using up a season's worth of bad luck in one night. Deciding to try a couple of chassis changes to help the handling of the car, Andy didn't know what to expect, overall the changes worked as expected but a missed corner in Qualifying put him towards the back in his heat race and after sustaining major left front damage in a heat race incident with another car we knew we were in for one of those nights. The main event didn't even start when in a freak accident Andy ended up on the top of another car...after pitting for a safety check He was not able to get back out on the lead lap, but with his never give up attitude he continued to race and was racing in sixth place when a mystery lapped car decided to spin in front of 4th through 6th plus Andy, effectively ending our night. Andy did finish ninth so it wasn't all that bad...

As always we thank ConFAb Corp. Little Darlins Child Care, Carcerano Racing, Stietz Service, Jennstar Motorsports, Hogge Racing, Pacific Coast Battery and the pit crew for their help and support....
Next Race is at Santa Maria Speedway April 2nd (if it stops raining)
